Guys...

I sold my 92 to my old man and he would like to put a new set of injectors in the truck (the stock ones are getting weak). I've never dealt with injectors yet, but I'd like some input on what injectors would suit this truck best. Cost is a factor of course. Truck is used as a daily driver now and will occasionaly tow up to 6000k. Not looking to set any records on the power scale. Any advice is much appreciated.

Dustin,

With my experience, Power Wagons (Bosch 185's) are a good all around injector. The offer more power, but don’t create too much heat and smoke. I know that there are other options out there for good "clean" injectors, but have no first hand experience with them. I would not recommend something such as a set of honed Lucas injectors for a lot of heavy towing without some serous air upgrades.

My PW's - Bosch 185's - have produced the numbers you see in my sig. When I first put them in I saw a noticeable improvement with very little down side effect. At that time I did not turn up the pump and shortly thereafter did an 11,000 mile trip back east. Mileage has been 17. 5 in the city and 21. 5 on the highway - non towing. Towing mileage has gone down slightly but that's to be expected. EGT's have never exceded 1050 pre turbo and then only when pulling a long hill. Hope this helps.
