Here it is time for injector replacement in my daily driver and also the horse that pulls a 11k 5th wheel.

Yes I have done the search for this information but still not convinced what injector that needs to reside in my truck. As you can see by my signature the truck is not running stock. The truck is running the stock 215 injectors that have 226k on them and now one is starting to act up in the mornings. So here is your chance to give me your choice for my application.

OK. . here you go!

I have some factory 160's you're more than welcome to try with a $100 core charge. :D

Are you looking for more power or just some replacements?

This is a 215 pump truck so I figured of moving up in hp if I am going to change out sticks. So will it be the 370's or some of the ????.

Thanks

Rick

My 300's offered a good gain but they haze blue no matter what and I'm getting tired of the diesel smell. I have a set of used DB370's coming, I've heard they're a little cleaner burning but if not oh well at least they flow more fuel.

I'd say go with 370's but they might require a larger turbo to keep EGT's down while towing.

DD 2's & 3's are also an option, the 2's would probably offer a good boost but would work better with your current turbo.

A company in Washington is now making injectors to buyers specs, but I'm not sure if they're out of the testing phase yet.

And I believe F1 EDM's are still making 12valve injectors but they're special order, but probably worth the money.

The F1 EDM(Don M) injectors was my first choice because I have first hand experience the 24v flavor. I have had a number of conversations with Don about the 12v injectors. He said that he dont offer them anymore and if he did want to start a line for the 12v. . it would cost about 10k to get it going. So for right now those are not an option. The other injectors like the Jammer and the DD line is an option to think about.

Need to make a choice to get them ordered soon.

Thanks

Rick

For towing, the 215s are pretty sweet. I ran the 300s for quite a while, with a 16 housing. , 16 degrees of timing, with a #5. Minimal smoke, 20-22 MPG, and you had to do something stupid to be concerned about egt.

I then went to the 370s, gained 60 HP on the dyno, take that for whats it worth. Also plenty of smoke, and controllable egt. I'm sure you could adjust things and straighten them up, to almost ideal,

I have yet to see any of the fancy machs, stages, etc, show they were worth the extra $$$ over 370s. :)

Hey Sled Puller,

Any real difference in MPG going to the 370s vs. 300s? I'm running stock 180s and thinking about the 300s. Don't need big horses, but would love to get in the 20-22 mpg ballpark. I get some good haze before she's warmed up w/ the plate at dead middle, afc forward. Also have the boost elbow, can hit 30 psi and have never gone over 850-900 on egts (not for lack of trying). :-laf

TIF,

Hvy

Driving normal, no, no significant difference. Playing around, you do lose some, but not massive amounts. You should still get 16+ playing hard.

Well I think I made up my mind last night when I received a PM from one of the members over on the DTR. He has a set of EDM's that was made up for a customer and then they backed out. I guess he found them while digging thru his stuff and remember that I had been after him for nearly 2 years wanting a set. So the transaction was made last night for a great price and in the next couple of weeks I will have my injectors. Finally!

Thanks guys for all your input and great information. Once they are in and we take our first trip with the trailer I will let you know how they work...
