Recently I have noticed that when I turn the key on to wait for the lights to go off on dash, I can hear a fast clicking noise from engine. ( engine is not running) We managed to narrow it to the injector area. We unplugged the harness to the injectors and the click stops, plugged back in click is back. Has anyone come across this before and how do you fix it. One last note no codes show.

Yep, normal..... scared me the first time i (uploading my smarty the key is on) as i hadn't noticed it beore... . like Robert said, it's normal.

It's bleeding air/fuel back to the fuel tank, with the lift pump running. The pressure is not enough to leak into the cylinder, but it goes back to the tank

The injectors operate by bleeding a small amount of fuel (about 20%) back to the fuel tank. This relieves back pressure on the plunger, and hydraulically (fuel pressure) opens the injector. This is where most injector trouble occurs.
