A knock/miss, accompanied by excessive white smoke under load is a failed injector correct???

I was just cruising along and it started knocking, had a loss of power, started smoking like hell under load... acts like a dead cylinder...

Boost was normal, rail pressure was normal, EGTs were normal, and fuel pressure was normal... no codes were present via a code reader.

Injector??

I had this happen last january. injector washed a cylinder which ment new engine. covered under warranty. terrible knock and miss. that injector may have been running fuel down that cylinder and now won't fire because cylinder is bad. white smoke is what i had with knock and miss.

This happened real sudden... I've been doing UOAs on the oil and had no fuel in the oil to speak, which should have shown up if the injector was leaking??

I only drove about a mile until I got to the dodge dealer...

OK, I feel a little better... the injector is still bulling, but I checked both the fuel/water separator and the oil today before the truck left.

I found the oil to be fuel-less and the fuel to be clean (very little water in the separator) and to actually be diesel. I had envisioned last night the possibility that the crankcase was full of fuel, or that I had sucked up a batch of water or gotten a load of gasoline... but such is not the case.

It is still missing, but it started and drove onto the rollbed (in low range, at idle).

I'm thinking the electrical part of the injector [ they started firing by electric did they not ] ?
But that should bring a code , so a stuck injector , if it just happened , then not much fuel in the oil .
With the testing of fuel & oil , a compression test would confirm no mechanical issues .
