Houser here

I am getting ready install some new 275s and I cant find my TDR issue with the easy to follow injector installation instructions any place. I have replaced a couple VPs and know how things come apart but cant remember from reading the TDR artical what the torque specks for the injector retainers were or if I need special tools to get injectors in and out.

Please Help

No special tools needed, just find a bolt that fits the threaded hole in the top of the injector. I use one 3" long so I can get a good grip on it & pull them straight up out. Make sure you take the injector lines off & pull the connector tubes out or they can get damaged during removal/installation. I am not sure of the torque specs. , but I will check tomorrow when I go to my shop. [if nobody posts them before then] Make sure when pulling the old injectors out that the copper washer comes out with them.

Houser again

Well I got 275s in without a single problem. Even got those devel injector lines to seal right on the first try. WOW Oo. What a power difference. My old stock injectors must have been worn out (only 80K). The truck runs better and gets better milage even without the EZ hooked up. With the EZ on, the Milage O meter says I picked up 3 to 4 MPG Without the EZ I get an extra 2 to 3.

a little late by the sounds of it but the retainer tq. # are like 86 in lb or 4-6 ft lb. Thats what i was told when i did mine.

how are the injectors with smoke? Do you think it was more power than the EZ alone? Please do a hand calc on the mileage with the new injectors after you have had some fun

New 275s

Yep

Lots more power with the EZ on. Very noticable. I am currently running without the EZ just to see how the injectors do on their own. My plan is to not use the EZ during the winter because of the aditional timing noise. The 275s are almost as peppy as the EZ alone and noticablly quieter. Also I must have been running with a bad injector before the change out because that annoying "tick" is gone. Just smooth sounding diesel engine growel. :p

As far as the milage meter goes, You can not trust it. When You put in A larger injector it will show higher milage because all it has to measre is the duration of the injection events and the larger injector will flow more fuel in the same amount of time. The 275s will help some but not as much as the overhead will show.
