Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Injector Hold Downs..Loose

I have been continuing my search for an engine miss and today I thought I would check valve lash and while I was in there I checked the injector hold down torque and they were at about 15-20 in-lbs verses the 89 in-lbs. They must have loosened as I know I put them to 89 in-lbs when I installed the EDM's.



Could this have been my ghost? What are the effects/symptoms of loose injector hold-downs? I haven't ran it since I have tightened these down.

If the injector keepers are loose it can cause the engine to run erraticly. It effects the spray pattern of the injector. Hope this helps. I'll bet that was the problem. Good luck.

Thanks, I was thinking that the cylinder pressures would be effected as the cylinders could leak at the injector. This could also explain why I thought I was a little down on power.
