Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) injector install, need new gaskets????

Hi, I just baught a set of used DDII injectors and I was wondering if I had to change any O-rings or gaskets during the install? I have the instructions and I didn't see anything about it but I just want to be sure before I start the project. Any advice is welcome

what do the orings look like are they hard - do they have nics . you should be able to reuse the orings that are on there

you could proly reuse the old o-rings if they are in good shape. i would however replace the copper washers that seal the bottom of the injector down by the tip. To me it wouldn't be worth putting them in to have one of those copper washers leak and have to do it all over again. Also, the valecover gasket is reuseable. I also just took the airhorn off and the gaskets stayed on it so i reused them also.

Yes you can reuse the rubber o-ring on the injectors and the o-ring on the fuel tube (what you pull out from the side of the head), just oil them before re-installing them. You should replace the copper washers on the injectors, but I have seen others reuse them as have I.
