No flame here - just wondering why so many people need injector install directions. Both sets of injectors I've bought have come with instructions, they're also in the service manual. Inquiring minds want to know ;)

Some of us came up from 1st generation trucks - and many of us never even changed injectors on THEM - and it's become painfully obvious that the newer trucks haven't gotten any EASIER to change injectors on! It's sure NOT like changing sparkplugs on a gasser (well, maybe SOME gassers... ) AND, since we've never changed injectors, we have no way of knowing WHAT is involved - and a little prior info MIGHT go a LONG way in helping us decide if it's anything we would wanna tackle or not...

I'm no pansy where wrenches are concerned, but it's obvious to ME, that I'll wanna give it LOTS of serious thought before *I* tackle the job! I *knew* that big cowl overhang was gonna get to be a pain!;) :D

Thanks to the SEVERAL nice fellas who sent me the info!:D

It's not difficult but it is nice to have something to refer to, especially the first time. Basically, the instructions save you time by guiding you (me) through what needs to be removed and what can be left alone. For example, the instructions specify which retaining clamps on the fuel lines must be removed. I know, anyone could figure this out but it is really nice to have a picture that points it out for you (that alone is worth getting a copy in my opinion).

On the 24 valves, you have to remove the intake plenum, high pressure lines, pull the valve cover, remove the retainers holding the injectors down, PULL THE TUBES (not all the way), pull the injectors, install new injectors, etc... .

The instructions will save you a lot of time and will give you some nice tips.

or by PM.

Warranty (3/36) is almost up and DD1's will be my first BOMB. The engine will outlive me - the transmission and TQ I am not so sure of ?:)

Injector Install Instruction request...PLease

Hello,

Could you folks please send me a copy of the injector install.

I've got a 2000 24V with EZ. I want to switch to the 275 injectors, I've got the EZ box which is great but in cooler weather it regularly throws the 1693 code when I'm in 1st or 2nd gear. I'm getting tired of getting de-fueled. Sure don't want it to happen when I need it. The truck has not de-fueled and thrown the code when I don't have the EZ on.

Many thanks in advance!!!
