Looking for some knowledge as I have none, how good are the stock injectors and what are the capable of, If you updated what would you go with, Looking for options after the DTT stuff! I was thinking of a big plate(not sure on the number system) but something along the lines of a 280 then maybe injectors and a PDR 35, Opinions are wanted!

Jim

Figure I will go with a 91 instead of a 89 for future power increasing.

I went with the #5 plate 270/675 in my rig and I realy enjoy driving it now. However the govener spring kit from Peirs is the best darn pump mod you can do. I would put it in a stock truck if Peirs ok'ed it.

As far as the injectors go I am going to put in stock 215's rather than my 180's should get the truck close to 290-300 hp. I am going to stop there with the fuel:D. I may not even do the injectors I am realy happy with the truck the way it is now.

I am glad I went with the complete DTT trans, could not be happier with it. I have the 89% tc.

I picked up some gauges from bill, but have not had the time to install them yet. I have been driving carfully. So I can not give you the low down on egt's yet.

There are two stock Bosch injector upgrades that I can recommend to you: first is the 215 hp injectors, and second is the 370 Diamond B marine injectors--the version that Piers and I applied to the Rams.

215s have gotten very expensive so are less attractive than they were several years ago. Occasionally I get a nice set in trade and have them cleaned, checked, and balanced by my Bosch shop. That is about the only cost-effective way to get these injectors today.

There are more than one verson of so-called 370 injectors; Piers and I use one version and I have done a lot of dyno testing on them.

There are also the excellent Diesel Dynamics Stage 1,2,3 injectors that span the range between 215s plus a bit to very close to the 370s.

Contact me off-line if you wish; I usually have some around or can get them.

Numbering system goes like this:

The smaller the #, the more fuel you get. Just like wiring and shotguns..... The 180hp and 215hp pumps just make more power with the 160hp plates... that's all. Watch them EGT's... .

My $. 02 worth... .

Matt - I need more fuel.

injectors

I would recomend the DD1,2, or 3's, I have the DD3's and I realloy like them much better than stock and they dont smoke like the 370's. :D

I have the Diesel Dynamics stage 3 injectors in mine and I really love 'em. My fuel mileage was better than with my 215 stock injectors.

The 370's make a little more power and they smoke a little more around town. Many feel the quality of the DD injectors is better than the 370's.

Cant go wrong either way.

Don~

370s

I have the right 370s (right from Joe D) and they don't smoke until about 1/2 throttle:cool: :D

My hiway milage is better than the stock 215s and as long as I keep my foot out of them in the city the milage is about the same. The power on the other hand is Super:cool: :D

When combined with the 16 CM2 housing & the #11(280 HP/685T) Plate made a Luk Pro Gold clutch slip badly.

Injectors

370's used here, got them from Joe D. They are great and good for about a 40HP increase over the stock injectors. There is a great deal more power on tap with these injectors. Also a big improvement in the low end grunt which makes them great for towing:D
