03, 6speed, used to deliver RV's, I put 575,000 on the first set of injectors. I had gotten fuel into my oil so I had them all changed plus the CP3 pump at 575,000 Never did find out for sure where the leak was, figured it's better to just change everything so I'm not in a shop again soon. 35k later, last week I get a knock at idle, espesaly under load at idle, like when you let the cluth out from dead stop. Also extra vibration, half the power at idle. I'm agonizing about this, what do I do? I read the story in Turbo Diesel Register which I had just gotten about injector woes by John Janko page 38 issue56. I decided as a last resort I would try Lucus upper engine lubricant. It said you could fill up your fuel filter with it and called it a tuneup. First I put 1/2 gallon Lucus into 30 gallons of fuel, then drove 100miles, no difference, then I drained the fuel cannister filled it 1/2 lucus, 1/2 fuel, drove 20miles then I thought I could tell a slight difference. Then drove 200miles and guess what? The knock was gone. I drove the rest of the way home and I can say the engine pures like a kitten. And seems to have power like new. WOW what a life saver, Really a MONEY saver. Hope this helps someone else.

I just had mine pulled at 300,000.

A couple months back I dropped a cylinder twice in one day. It turned out to be a connector problem and not an injector problem, but I already had my mind made up to pull them.

I just got them back from F1 Diesel Thursday, and picked up my truck yesterday. I'll be heading out on a 3,000 miler tomorrow. I'll be running I80 all the way across PA with 4 horses, so it'll be a good first run with them to check power and mileage. If things look good on the way out, I'll through my Quad back on for the return trip.

First impression was how smooth the idle was. They did find what they called "pressure related wear", and had to do some minor repairs as well as add the Flux1 tips.

Martion... I'm glad you're truck is running better but I doubt that it's because of the Lucas. My bet would be it's the mileage you drove, 100 then 200 consistently that solved more of your problems than anything, especially if it was hwy miles. I've used the Lucas for years in all 3 Cummins' diesels I've owned and it never did anything to solve my injector problems. I'm not saying it's not good stuff, just that I think you would be better served with you're particular problem with something like the Valvoline injector cleaner that Geno's sells, or some Howes meaner cleaner... . something more injector specific. But I have no doubt that working your engine more strenuously would be the best medicine, i. e. hauling a heavy load for awhile and getting her nice and warmed up... burn that junk out of there, it works!
