Well, I think I'll be replacing my VP44 soon. So it got me thinking. My plan is to keep this truck for at least another 100,000 miles (over 200,000 on the clock already).

My question is, how many miles should I reasonably get out of this set of OE injectors? I'm totally stock, just lots of miles.

Do injectors last "forever" or do they have a finite lifespan and should be replaced at some preventive maintenance interval (albeit a long period)?

I would like to know the answer to that as well since I'm coming up on 400,000 miles on the original injectors.

Since our injectors are simple a spring closed valve that opens when the pressure gets high enough. I can't believe the spring won't weaken with age and use and cause a decrease in performance but I'm not seeing that.

I'm certainly no expert on fuel injection systems, but it seems to me that you could probably expect them to start to have slightly different pop off pressures after a long time, but that's about it. From what I understand it's not that big of a deal to have a knowledgeable shop reset the pop off pressure on them.

I also would like to find a shop to check and pressure test my stock injectors. Right now I have the RV275 in, but would like to keep the stock ones, ready.

523,000kms (321,000k ) on mine and still going strong. Dont see any change in the mileage still 23 24 mpg us. Have original vp-44 ,always use Howes meaner and mmo every tank since new.
