I use it but that's because I like my gauges and dash lights/pinging noise to finish before starting. It's a habit working on commercial rigs and taking my Class A CDL lol
Sorry, but unless he busted the block, the bell housing, and the transmission case, I have to throw the BS flag on this one.
I too, would like to understand how eng coolant can get into a manual trans?
TY,
Scott
I can only guess how it entered the manual transmission ... When the engine was pulled for rebuild we found an ugly prior patch job from when it failed: It had a sleeve in #1, the head looked like craters on the moon for #1, aftermarket piston for #1, and a bent pushrod. I suspect the cooling system let go during whatever hammered up the #1 so bad may have allowed some to get in the trans. Ugly oil sample below so no surprise when I later had the NV5600 rebuilt at the same time as the engine to find it had flat syncros (worn out) and bearings starting to mark up. Keep in mind the Viscosity of Amsoil Syncromesh is 10.1 at 100C and this sample is at 5.0 for whatever was in it.
