Now that I have this in the 12 valve forum. Does anyone have one of the TDR injector pullers floating around out there. If so, I'll be needing one soon. Thanks,

Greg

P. S. I'm located in western NC

" Rammin'On " makes a really cool injector puller..... he sent me one a couple of weeks back. It works slick as..... well you know what I mean. He's located in Newport News, VA... which is kinda close to you... .

Let me know if you can't find one... . I can ship mine down to you... . just as long as you give it back!! :D

Matt

He told me you had one. I was hoping to find one I could use or just buy one from him. Buying one may be my best bet.

Thanks,

Greg

Hey Oliver, i tried to PM you. your box is full. make sure you tell it to look at the last year or so and delete any you dont need.

I will make you one and send it your way. you pay shipping and its yours. shouldnt be more than few bucks.

just dont desicrate it on here after you see it. Hey, it works :D and no it wont have AeroQuip fittings like Keith's has.

I was always told "if it dont run, chrome it" anyway :D sorry Keith :D

I'll have to stop by the farm supply this weekend and get some more metric nuts and bolts first.

OOPs, that just aint fair

I have posted several times, here goes again

Buy a metric bolt, M14 x 1. 5 thread, about 4+" long

Buy a Dodge dually lugnut for the 80s trucks. It has an integral flange head and is for 5/8 fine thread.

Buy a metric deepwell lug nut in M14 x 1. 5. It shuld be threaded all the way through, and if it has a chrome tin cover, press or cut the cover off.

Auto Zone, etc. have them.

Assemble, with the dually lug nut flange to the head of the bolt.

The metric lug nut threads onto the bolt and onto the injector top. use the dually lug nut as a slide hammer. Put two fingers on flats of the nut, against the flange. The most elegant would be to saw off some of the threads on the bolt so it goes only about 1/2" or so into the metric nut, and use red loctite on it. you want to end up with about 3-1/8" of smooth shank on the bolt for the dually lug nut to slide on.

The above should cost you around $5-8, less if you find lug nuts in the boneyard.

Joe . .

The pullers I make up are simple ... . and less cumbersome than using a big bolt and lug nut ... . the injectors tap out with ease ... the puller is a swivel that treads right on ... . they yank 'em out effortlessly ...

Here's a photo of mine. It's a 5/16" (I think) X 6" bolt with the edges of the hex head ground off so it just fits up inside a regular injector nut. I got the nut from an injection shop, they just gave it to me. It was cut off an old injector line. Just put some kind of weight on it for a slide hammer, & tap them out.

That looks simpe enough. I suppose I could just make one when I take the injector plunge...

... . getting closer :D

the ones i made are basically what Joe said. i used a SAE threaded bolt and just welded a nut to the top of a metric nut the size that fits the injector. I took it a step further (for those cantankerous ones) and built a handle with a nut that slides on the bolt.

use the handle to impact them off with no chance of slipping or putting a blood blister on your hand after pinching it in between the lug nut and head of the bolt.

how about we send all the versions to Joe and he evaluate them in the next issue of the TDR :D

who can blueprint my setup for me :D

Slick & Simple Injector Puller

You want a simple injector puller? Here it is: Use a tubing cutter (a hacksaw is no good -- the ends have to be parallel) and cut a 1-3/16" long piece of 3/4" E. M. T. (Electrical Metallic Tubing, i. e. , thinwall conduit). Remove the burrs left by the tubing cutter. Slide the tubing over the injector, stack one or two 1/2" flat washers on top of the tubing and use an M14 x 1. 5 nut to pull the injector free. Works on all 6 injectors. Somebody else came up with this idea but, unfortunately, I can't remember who it was to give him the proper credit. Oo. Oo.
