I have a 99 dodge qd 2500 24v. I was traveling at 65mph on the interstate and truck sputtered lost power then completely shut down. I just had the batteries replaced the week prior. I checked under the hood for anything obvious didn't see anything. Had to tow it to my destination. Got it to shop on 12/05. They hooked it up to a code reader and came up with the following codes 1688,1689,216,219,230. Replaced fuel pump prior to getting it to shop but it still would not fire. Truck remains in Harlan KY. If it is my injection pump any suggestions on any better pumps and where to get it fast. I am just stuck replacing it with a vp44? Need help been without truck for almost 2 weeks.

Thanks

Mark Garrett

A leading cause of codes like yours other than a failed VP-44, is either loss of fuel delivery to the VP-44 caused by a bad LP - or other issue such as a plugged fuel filter.

If you are able and willing, try disconnecting your fuel line right at the VP-44, and test to see if you are actually getting a solid, strong fuel flow at that point.

It would help - both you and us, if you had gauges installed and could provide fuel pressure readings.
