Archived Injector Pump Woahs.... MN

Well, I think my injector pump is taking a crap. Dead throttle again yesterday, but only for a sec, light grey smoke. ARGH, anyone here have a spare VP-44 laying around in MN that would be willing to help me install it or if I buy a new one, help me install that? I am suppose to drive to WI (6hrs) on saturday, and afraid it will crap out on my way there or back... any ideas? Think I should swap it, or not? I found one on-line for just over 1000 bucks... http://www.mwfi.com/dieselPage/dodge_59.htm (ok place? good price?)

thanks Josh! is that a good price on the pump? how long does it take to swap? I just am suppost to be in WI (6 hrs away) for a good friends grad party, and also to get my new front bumper.

If you plan on tapping the pump wire, I can get you a pump for the same price and wire tapping will not void the warranty.

oh you bet the wire would be tapped! :-laf I know that is why my current pump is :{ :-laf



So, ya think I would be ok until after the weekend if I just turn my box off for now and just drive it stock? Its just no fun to drive anymore without the box :-laf

are you getting any codes? check for codes and report back

no codes except 1693 (had that for over a year)



but, looks like the injector pump took a ****, unless ya'll have any other ideas, as now I cant get it to rev above 1200 rpms. stumbles pretty bad and throws TONS of white smoke. even at idle it smokes (white/blue smoke) never done this before, so I think I killed it this time. Guess I better order that pump and fast huh?

it idles fine now... but if I raise it to ~1400 RPM it just stumbles a little and blows white smoke... but if I hold it to the floor long enough, it gets past ~2000 RPM then throttle responds correctly... . this sounding like a IP or APPS/TPS?

Gauge is pegged at 15psi (15 psi gauge) will only come down to maybe 12-13 at WOT

OK, looks like I am getting a new pump (hopefully by friday!) any of you Minnesota guys wana help me install this biatch Friday night? I am suppose to leave for WI on Saturday morning!
