we had a injector replaced on dads 04.5 3500 and the first time it started up after the replacement there was a very loud bang from the engine, but only that first start up and it seems to run fine now, but is that bang a normal thing?

Perhaps there was a large amount of fuel left in the cylinder after the change. Sometimes this can even
cause a hydrostat lock so you can't even turn the engine over.
I just changed my injectors. When doing so I syphoned any extra fuel out of the cylinder and I found one with
quite
a bit of fuel ( about an ounce). I think a long as it started it is ok.

With the injectors and lines empty, questionable leaking injectors a series of knocks, rattles, bands on initial start up is not unusual. If it calms down, sounds good, and you don't have any obvious issues after a couple hear cycles it is likely fine.
