I add Diesel Kleen to my fuel on every fill up. Yesterday I had my injector's serviced or flushed at my Dodge dealer. My question is, If I add Diesel Kleen on each fill up is the injector flush necessary? I have not experienced any problems with the injectors.

Any varnish or stickiness could be removed by flushing, but the real secret is not some mouse milk additive. It is to use thoroughly filtered (3 micron media), water free, algae free, fuel of good quality. HPCR injectors are very sensitive to dirt and to lubricity. I question how much lubricity can be improved, or even maintained, with additives bought over the counter. The refineries work hard to give us fuel that works well.

If you can keep the best possible fuel and run the PS evey tank you shold never need to have an injector service done. The question will always be the quality of fuel and that is impossible to easily determine and control. The injector cleaning has some merit but it is hard to quantify when it is needed.

Right. But I still am curious about the actual dealer "injector flush. " Is it a bottle of MOPAR diesel injector cleaner they pour into the tank before handing the keys back to a customer, or is there a machine attached to the fuel plumbing that cleans, filters, and lubricates the injectors and various other fuel system components?

Best,

My question is, how do you know? If I stop at a Pilot or some other large truck stop can I feel safe I'm getting clean fuel?

. It is to use thoroughly filtered (3 micron media) said:
You can never really be certain, that is why most will recommend additional fuel filtering such as a W/S before the stock filter, a good filter (i. e. , Baldwin PF7977) in the stock housing, and a 2-3 Mic filter (i. e. , Donaldson P551313) between the stock housing and the CP3.

I also run Stanadyne Performance in each tank. It separates the water, allowing the W/S to be more efficient in removing any water that may be in the fuel.
