Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) injector question

I have a 1995 4x4 auto transmission, with a #6 tst and an afe air filter, and no muffler..... would new injectors improve my milage, if i drive it easy? if so, what would be a good everyday usage injector? or is there another better way to make some improvements

You will have to do something about beefing up your transmission before adding any more power. A #6 TST plate is about all a stock '95 trans will take from what I've been told. Your gear ratio and driving habits have more affect on MPG than about anything else. I added injectors to mine. No apparent change in MPG but it goes a lot better now. Advancing timing is supposed to help milage, but mine stayed the same. About 18 to 20 on the highway. I was getting 20 - 22 when the truck was new, but when the diesel formulation was changed it dropped to what I am getting now. The best milage I ever got was 23 MPG running 55 MPH with the cruize control from Redding to Bakersfield on I5. Almost bored myself to death on that trip.

i am considering buying an ats stage 4 transmission, which would fix the transmission problem, what kind of injectors would be good for moderate gains, without negativly effecting anything?

One thing you have to consider about diesel power things. Most of them only kick in at full or almost full throttle. Not like a gasser where everything you do affects operation regardless of throttle position. I have Piers 370 injectors. Kind of smoky at idle sometimes, but run just fine otherwise. Plenty of fuel available if I stand on it. No affect on milage as far as I can tell. Other injectors are fine too. I only have personal experience with stock and the 370s.
