Hey Guys

I have a 2000 dodge that i tow a 26' toy hauler. I have a bd comp and a usb bell turbo on it right now. 4 INCH Straight pipe all the way out. Good Intake also. The Question is my egts kill me when towing. I have to tow in 4th gear any touch of the throttle and it jumps up to 1200-1600. I know twins would help but i just got the Usb and i don't tow all the time. I want to add the 100hp tow injectors but i'm affraid the egt will be to much. I'm going to run water/meth but i can't keep the water on all the time so? Are any of you guys running a 85-100 injectors while towing? I was thinking hopefully the box can stay off and just run the injectors 90 percent of the time. I want to reach 450-475 rwhp but i have to keep in mine i have a trailer to tow. Thanks

the only thing i could add here is injectors will get you more fuel and may get the boost up higher while towing and cool things off. you are looking for efficiency.

i tow 12k 29' toybox with my mods. 130hp injectors and I went over the grapevine with the comp on 3x5. i see about 45psi max boost. what kind of boost are you seeing from the combo you have now? i'm not real familiar with the usb turbos, but most of the mid-size turbos run good up to 40-45psi, then start to overheat the intake charge. if your boost is under 35psi, you probably do need larger injectors to drive the turbo into its more efficient range.

A little late, but are you coming to the Dyno event in Sacramento Saturday 4/16?

Ya your right about injectors to run the turbo where it should be. I was just affraid after towing with the usb that injectors would hurt me egt. Anyways im making boost of 30 psi wot. My diesel guy (Adam Sprague) Told me once i get injectors it should be around 45-50 wot. He also said tow in 4th. As of right now 5th is bad egt. I didn't know Sac. Was having a dyno day, Cant make it tomm. have other plans . Next time :)

You will not be happy with the USB turbo. There seem to be a few of them out there that run hot and don't make good power. I had one and it has been through 3 different owners now. All had poor results.

Really! what turbo are you running? Do you tow? The USB runs great on the street until you tow. Most of the time it runs at 1000- 1200 while towing under min throttle at 55-60 mph in 4th. Going through the sierras it gets hot easy.

I am running twins now but switched from the USB to a 35/40 hybrid(Dodgezilla). The USB ran hotter at any boost level than the hybrid. Towing could only be done on flat ground in 4th gear 50 mph at 1100 or so degrees. I have heard of some having good luck with the usb, some run real hot. If the temps go down at 40psi maybe you'll be ok. Mine did not.

I just put my new turbo on a couple of weeks ago, but I have not towed with it yet. With the set-up in my sig (minus the turbo) I was towing my 29' TH, w/a weight around 12K, and my temps were manageable. I was able to tow in 6th on level to slight incline, that is as long as I could keep my speed at around 60 - 70 mph. I have my thermocouple post turbo, so I tried to not let the temps get much above 900 - 950 deg. With this new turbo, however, I am considering going to EDM 3's. Hope this helps.

NoCal you might want to consider Mach 4 over Mach 3's, these new 4's burn cleaner and produce less egts than the Mach 3's

PH... I'm still running a stock turbo. . but I was always worried about the bigger injectors. . until I put them in... I just turn the box off. . or put it on the lowest setting. . the injectors seem to be smoother with the power... than the box. . but sometimes a little timing might help a little. . (I dont know if the BD box has timing control??)

PHellen, I'd stick to the EDM injectors, I'm real happy with mine from www.f1diesel.com (contact Bob Wagner), but other vendors have them as well.

RonA, I just watched Adan Winslett run 640+hp yesterday with the USB turbo, fairly crazy injectors and nitrous. Yeah, a lot of other factors in there, but I don't think the USB is a bad choice, just needs a bit more fine tuning. Check with member Winspeed (he has a shop in Concord area) for his suggestions before you ditch the turbo.

I have stock turbo. Can I put bullydog 4's in with out any problems? or will I need a bigger turbo? The most I tow is a two horse trailer. I want it to smoke pretty good but also need a street driveable truck as this is a daily driver for a college student.

P. S. The dyno day at Imler was sweet, I got the bug now. Wish could have seen more trucks run down the strip. Only 5 guys ran their trucks.

I like my DDIII's. . towing with a stock turbo is fine... if I turn the box off. . If I have the box on, I just have to watch the EGT's... With a bigger turbo????

Bell USB's dont make any power? LOL.

Hmmmmm. I better look at getting a different turbo then. LOL. There are a few Twin Turbo guys I've ran accross that might feel differently.

The Bell USB is my turbo of choice. It works, I install a lot of them. It's a great towing and Hot Rod turbo. I can tow using this turbo and my Jammer 5's (which are the most *****en street injector I've ever tried) without any problem with high E. G. T. 's. I can get it hot if I turn it all the way up and hammer it. But Ive gone over the Grapevine with a 9000 lb trailer at 80 mph. Keeping the egt's around 1200. I could have gone faster but the f-ing idiots in the fast lane wouldn't get out of my way. LOL.

Weve put a WSB on Adam Sprague's brothers truck (Comp, DD-3's) And it was awesome. It spooled like no other. It's one of the most impressive turbo's I've seen. It was one of the first wastegated WSB's pius built. We waited almost a year for Pius to get the parts to build them.

I had just found out they were being made when he started his move. I have order's for two of them after he get settled in Oregon. We never put it on the dyno or any other truck. I dont know how it would work in a High HP truck (but I'd like to test that application) but in a moderate HP truck, This thing is extremely impressive.
