It looks like you can't get injector tubes for the 5.9 any more. The ones for the 6.7 work but have a larger passage for fuel delivery. I'm about to put injectors in my 05 (50Hp DDP). I didn't plan on installing new injector tubes unless one was damaged. Since these tubes aren't exactly the same as the rest could I change just one or do I need to get all six? Will the larger passage alter the fuel flow between injectors if some are 5.9 and some are 6.7?

The 5.9 tubes are available from a lot of places. DAP, Engineered Diesel, Genos, etc. Look around for the sources.

I tried to find something in Cummins for an explanation, etc. and failed. The part number changes up like three times but there was no parts topic to go with it.

Don't go thru Cummins, all they have are the 6.7 tubes. They superceded the older numbers to the new one because that is all they stock anymore. They work with the 5.9 injectors but can cause issues, especially on older injectors. They are larger and tip is shaped differently so the fit is not as good as th 5.9 tubes.

Mike, are all the injector tubes on my truck the same, or is there a different one for each cylinder...........just trying for an education here!

I put in new 5.9 tubes. $440 up here. I got them thru cummins. They were shipped in just a plastic bag (not happy about that). I didn't know what mine were like and wasn't going to take the chance on reusing them. Next injector install/removal I'll have some sitting around to use if necessary I guess.
