I have a 99 3500, 5-Speed, Comp Box, pusher pump system, straight pipe, BHAF. Can I install DDIIIs without having to upgrade the Turbo? I will probably need to upgrade the clutch. Does anyone else have a similiar set up on a 99 5-speed.
Sorry missed an "I" oops... ... ... ... . yes you can still install a set of III's however it will just lower how much of the COMP's power you can use. III's & COMP on Level 1 shouldn't be an issue, above that it depends on how your truck reacts.
I guess a more important question since you did ask about III's, is how much and how heavy do you tow?
Do you NEED more power or do you WANT more power?? DD2 work pretty well and only 20 hp less than threes. It may fill the need/want till you get a turbo for the bigger set. ?
I installed a comp, but left the pump wire off, and it helped some. Then we put in DD2's. What a difference!! It really woke the truck up!! SOme say with a stock turbo and III's, it will smoke ALOT!
