Injectors and over head computer

Will injectors throw off the mpg on the over head computer? And how will injectors affect the trucks mpg? I have a ez and the mpg on the computer seemed right but now with injectoers it seems to good to be true.

Anything that adds more fuel than the equipment that came stock in the truck will throw off the overhead computer, as for as MPG's that will depend a lot on how heavy your right foot gets.

The MPG on your overhead computer seems too good to be true because it is. You were probably reading 1-2 MPG high with just the EZ, and are probably 3-5 high on the display with the injectors too. You should calculate a couple of tanks and get real numbers, then you can ballpark your actual MPG. Bear in mind that the ballpark number you come up with will be only that, but you will be able to guess within 1 MPG or so what your actual MPG is. Hope this helps.

I missed the question in the original post about what injectors will do to the fuel economy. Some have reported an increase in economy, some report the same economy as before. I do not recall that someone has posted that their economy went down. I have not seen a gain in economy with injectors, rather I have seen that available power goes up and economy stays the same IF you drive the same as before. Did I mention that IF you drive the same as before you will not lose fuel economy? IF you use the power you have after an injector swap you will lose some fuel economy. How much is anyones guess, I would say that will depend on how hard you drive it.



As far as recalibrating the trip computer goes, I am not aware of a way to do that. Would be nice, but I am not holding my breath

I can't vouch on an increase in MPG, but with BD2's and an EZ, I'm getting 18 mpg on the dot, driving with a semi-heavy right foot. Not bad considering it weights 7300# and is 4x4. My overhead computer says I'm at 21 mpg, so it's off by a little. I don't use that anyway.

WELL after a 260 mile trip, no load (full cab) and with some city and stop and go on the FWY at 75/80.

Our ford says 30mpg. Although the amout of fuel stops says otherwise.
