Where to buy Fuel SF to Mesa AZ

Tire size and towing ability

I didnt find what I was looking for searching, so I have a question. I have a 2000 24v 5spd. Newer Stock clutch mind you, but that is going to be replaced this summer hopefully. I pull my dads trailer (22' enclosed) hauling cabinets every now and then, can range from a few hundred lbs of cabinets, too a few thousand depending on how many cabinets we pack in there. I currently have a stock turbo, and a Edge Comp. I usually pull with it on 3x3 and EGTs are reasonable, and it pulls nicely with out issue. Now, I am possibly looking at a set of injectors for my truck, and happened accross a set of used F1 Mach4 150HP injectors. Am I going to be able to pull this trailer with these and keep a safe EGT level if I shut the box completely off?

My hope is that I can just drive around without having to use the Edge box. Actually would love to maybe even sell it and buy a Smarty instead. Anyway, just need to know if ya'll think this is a good or bad idea?

thanks!

I know several members that tow with Mach 4's and you should not have any issues with your 5 speed.

Go for it if the price is right and the injectors are not that old.

Really? I was told by several people not to go bigger than Mach 1. 6s for towing with a stock turbo. Should I be considering something larger when I buy injectors?

I am asking this so I know what to get, not saying that you are wrong Bob, I really don't know much about injectors.

I think you'll be OK. I put in Jammer 2's. I pull 10K and can get it hot in 6th going uphill. But usually I need to drop to 5th for torque/RPMs before EGTs anyway (I never tow over 65mph and with 3. 54s and 35" tires, once I go below 55 I need to drop a gear or I'm running under 1600 RPMs).

Only once, going up El Cajone pass on I15 between San Bernadino and Las Vegas, did I ever have to back out of the throttle to keep the temps down. Otherwise I can keep my foot into it all day. However even when it was bone stock, it all comes down to watching the gauge and keeping the airflow up.

Nate - I think it comes down to whether you want the truck to protect itself (don't go over 1. 6s), or whether you want to have the extra power, just have to keep your foot out of it on occasion.

cool thanks guys, i figured its no different than now, i just gotta keep my eye on the pyro to make sure I dont melt anything. I ususally down shift going up grades as it is anyway, runs a little high on the RPMs at times, but it sure runs alot cooler when its breathing deep. I would love to go to a new turbo, and probably will upgrade that this summer as well, if funds are good. Man, HD big Screen TV, or a larger Turbo... decisions! :-laf
