Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Injectors are here/Tool list?

I noticed the very thorough write up in the most recent TDR issue.

I got my Jammer stage 3's today.

This adds up to me spending some quality time under the hood this weekend.



I need a tool list, as the majority of my tools are packed away, awaiting their new home to be built.

I want to make sure I have everthing I need.



Last minute tips are appreciated as well.

Congrats on the new home.



For injectors, get a stubby 19mm or 3/4" open end wrench for the injector line nuts. Use a valve cover bolt as an injector puller.



Other than that, it should be easy.



Follow the normal instructions. Go easy on the injector hold downs and make SURE that the old copper gaskets come out when you pull the stock injectors.





Other tools... off of memory... 8mm open end wrenches, 10mm sockets/extensions/wratchet, torque wrench...

The hardest part it getting the valve cover off.



I think it took me longer to get the thing off then it did for me to change the sticks lol.

#6 injector is a little hard to get at. The stubby wrench comes in handy for that one but if you don't have a stubby wrench all you have to do is take one bolt out of the rear engine hook and loosen the other and swing it out of the way then you can get a full size wrench back there.

small screwdriver to pry the crossover tubes out--they don't need to be totally removed but backed out a little--



also not sure the valve cover bolts will work for your year, but one of the bolts used for the intake horn work



some grease to lube up the new oring

Which edition was that injector change in? I rememeber reading it, and now that I have some new ones to put in I cant find it.

13mm to get the throttle lever/tps sensor out of the way, spare intake horn gaskets if you booger one or both up, a spare clean rag to stuff in the intake manifold as to not loose any hardware down there, a long set or bent set of needle nose pliers to pry the injectors out (after using the small screwdriver to extract the connector tubes), and an 8mm socket and 1/4" drive ratchet/extension to get the little blue injector line holders off.



This is in addition to tools mentioned above.

I installed mine a few weeks ago.

Here are my pics I took until my camera died. Everything went fine. I used a crobar, gently on #5 and #6. I do get an occasional whiff of diesel. I found the #6 fuel line was a little loose, tightened that. Still getting a smell once in awhile.
