Don't waste time with honed injectors.
Having installed a set of EDMs today (not in my truck, in someone else's), I can say that the EDMs are fantastic.
The Mach 1s we put in were every bit as strong as my DD2s, only with zero smoke. The truck LOVED them, as they made the thing run like a dream with almost INSTANT pedal response.
I was floored by the comparison of the Mach 1s to my DD2s. The mach 1s are rated for less power, but they feel every bit as strong as my DD2s.
Now I am REALLY curious about what the bigger EDMs are like.
Look at the cost of upgrading to the EDMs. You'll see that the cost difference between an EDM and a honed injector is EASILY a better value because the EDMs are just so much better in every possible way!
A small set of Don M injectors can be had for almost the same price as some slightly larger honed injectors, but you will be MUCH happier with the EDMs.
I can't WAIT to upgrade to EDMs!!!! The only question now is how big!
if DD3s are $600 and Mach 2s are $800, then the Machs are IMHO a better deal by far.
The difference was especially noticeable up here in the rare air (6K elevation).
Though I have generally been pleased with my DD2s, I can't recommend honed injectors in good conscience, as I feel strongly that the EDMs from Don are a much better value at any hp level.
