When I had the 275's and the EZ and towing about 4k over passes and city driving 800 miles a week I was getting about 13-14 MPG. When I went to the DD2's I now get 11. 5-12 MPG. I have never got below 11MPG EVER. Empty with the 275's and EZ I got around 21-22 driving nice . :) When I put the DD2's in I now get around 19-20. This is done by hand calcualtions not off the trip computer.

You will not notice a huge difference going from complete stock to 275's if you DONT tow. If you do tow you will notice a difference. Your mileage will go up as well, at least it did for me.

If you want to see some gains from Stock in HP go for no less then DD2's. If you want to go the injector route. If I could do it over I would go 275's and Comp box. The price of DD2's are over 2 times as much as 275's and IMO are not worth the extra $$$. Others may think differently. But me going from 275's to DD2's It wasnt a huge jump in power for the $$$$. My 0-60 times with the 275's and comp on 5x5 was 6. 54 Sec. With the DD2's and box on 5x5 my time dropped to 5. 84 sec. (pretty dam fast for a 7k LBS truck) Over a half second drop not bad at all, but prepare to lay down some smoke to get those times.

If your completely stock get a EZ box first. This is the most single best bang for your buck. It just plugs in and your done in 5 min. Injectors take time and and some mechanical experience.

I hope I have answered some questions, if your in my area feel free to give me a call and try my truck out.

Ok, got the RV275 injectors installed today and my first impression is that there is not much noticible difference over my empty turck and the EZ alone. I only drove it for about 10 minutes so I did not have much of a chance to get a feel for it but it was not as big of a difference as the EZ was when I installed that. To make a long story short, had I not just writen the check for $450 to pay for the injectors and install I'd not have known they were in there. I'll give it more time and try towing and maybe then I'll notice a power increase.

Our trucks/engines are about the same and I felt the same way as you. But the Dyno says they are there and doing something.

I think for the price difference I will go with the 275's. For the people who have purchased them in the past, where is the best(cheapest) place to get them from. I have seen prices up to $375 and as low as $275 from wildcat diesel with no core charge.

If anyone has some for sale for less then Wildcat diesel has, let me know!!!

Thanks once again for all the info.

Well I can't help now, but will soon

I'm going to put the 275's in first--after a dyno run. Then dyno again. Then I'm going to slap on a Comp. and of course dyno some more.

And when the clutch gives up...

So I should have some nice progressive numbers for folks to look at.

Gotta sell the Ford first!Oo.

jlcc,

Are you still on the stock clutch and if so have you towed with your setup? Any clutch slippage? I'm done with the power level increases (for now :) ) and would like to get some life out of my stock clutch before having to spend the money on a South Bend Clutch. Just wondering how much time I have?

Thanks,

Im looking to add dd1s shortly to my truck... Then I will have dd1s,ttpm and afe filter... Im going to dyno stock then with Bombs. Only need another 100 HP... Then SBC,4" exhaust...

Then? Nothing else zilch zip zero honest:D

Don't forget about air.......

275's don't require as much air as the DD2's to properly use all the fuel. Black smoke at take off is normal but if your moving down the road it means your not pumping in enough air. Boxes, injectors, exhausts & turbos are all a balancing act.

part #

Anybody now the part number on the 275 injectors. I have a set of new ones waiting to go in, but it doesn`t say bosch anywhere on them. Also wondering if I should change the connector tube o-rings when I install these new injectors?

Thanks

275 Injectors

Ray Regarding clutch. I experienced slippage the first time I pulled my 5er and installed the South Bend. The 275. EZ is a beautiful combination for towing, I believe you'd happy. Remember some folks are impossible to make happy. Don
