Ray,

Since you are basically stock and your desire is for better fuel mileage, I have a suggestion. Noting you have the K&N filter, I will tell you that the K&N for the stock box did nothing noticable for me. I suggest trying the BHAF if you have followed those threads. It would be interesting to see what that would do for stock. Next is to go to a highway tire. That will definetly make a difference over M&S. Got the airdam up front?

Are your valves in proper adjustment? Timing been checked? Fuel filter okay?

Are you after better mileage in general or with the camper? A donut between the cab and camper overhang might be benificial.

What would do me the most good, Injector's or the 4 " Exhaust.

I'd have to say the exhaust might help SLIGHTLY ... . probibally not enough to measure accurately.

You'd have to drive a LOT of miles to justify the added cost of the system.

If you really are just interested in MPG's, I dont think there is much to do except for maybe a good timing, clean air filter, and regulate it with your right foot.

Eric

PS I have the 370's in my truck, and I dont think it hurt my mileage too much. (. 25 mpg?) It definetly didnt improve it though...

For the long story, see my article in TDR#29, p. 30 on mileage with power. For the short story, higher pump timing (about 15-15. 5 deg) will probably give the biggest increase after driver's habit optimization. Injectors may help a bit, such as 215 hp injectors. The torque plate can help by giving you enough power where the brake specific fuel consumption is best, around 1800 rpm. However, the drivetrain is happier at 2000 rpm. Either is more fuel efficient than 2500 rpm that may be needed with stock power/torque to get enough hp for towing. Remember hp = torque x rpm

You have all the power you need? I'm sorry. :D Most of us never have enough, at least after a couple weeks with a given power level. For myself, I remain conservative. Another fifty or so hp would be enough, I think
