Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Interesting A/c problem & fix

My future plans for my 2000 are a Edge EZ or comp fuel box and larger injectors. I am only looking at something like 60hp injectors for the truck. Which one should I install first or does it really matter. Thanks for your input... . James.

My vote would be for the EZ first; that way you'll get the benifits of the boost elbow and boost fooler built into the box (more boost to keep egts in control with the hp increase). With just the injectors things may get a bit toasty (but then again, maybe not with 60hp sticks).

If you don't have gauges, that should be first.

Then make sure you have the transmission to support the added HP.

It's no fun upgrading, loosing the transmission, injector pump, or turbo and not having the cash to fix it...

Build a SOLID foundation for the truck first, because 60HP is NEVER enough!

Ditto on the chip. Major performance upgrade. Later add some more efficient injectors for another boost. transmission or clutch will squawk, plan for another upgrade. It's only money!

if you're sold on edge products, forget the EZ and put in the comp box right off the bat ;) just gonna want it later after you get a taste anyway. dont forget gauges should be the first part of any power upgrade. didnt read your sig. but if its an HO you will probably notice more difference with injectors over a chip. either way have fun :D

Box first, I'd go for the Comp over the EZ. Comp is the same as the EZ if you don't tap the pump and it's best for the money to go ahead and get it because you'll want the power later. Then you should be looking at a clutch before the injectors.

As stated build the solid foundation, you can do a box and then injector's but your clutch will not live long and then having the power is worthless.

With my set-up I have recently started getting the 5th gear nut problem and today I noticed the clutch slipping badly! Thank God I have a good guy like Aron Howlett living near by to help me give it a uplift when needed! I added the box first(same as Edge EZ) and added the injectors only 2 monthes back but then again I tow everyday and I have 180,000 on my clock. I would recommend the clutch after the first add on to save the tow bill. Hope this helps, Chris

You are getting good advice. I went with an EZ first, but if I had it to do over again, I'd get a MAD CaTCHER first Clutch second & Mach 4's & a Dodgezilla to finish it off. This of course assumes you have gauges.

Thanks for the replies gang. I'll go with the Comp box and then we will go from there. I'll post later when I need help setting the comp up... Thanks James.
