I'm putting a ported piers 16 cm non wastegated housing on my 93, was going to do exhaust and tweak the pump, but piers told me that keeping the stock injectors will put a lot of stress on the pump. Should I get injectors instead of the exhaust? Which one to get? I want to be at least as fast as my old non intercooled 91. What size injectors should I get? I'm not building a drag truck, just want a good amount more power, will probably be towing ~5500# open trailer occasionally. My truck is auto, 3. 54, 82K miles if it matters. -Nick

Niki,

Welcome back! I recently put the Lucas PODs on mine and was more than impressed with the change. They do smoke noticeably, but it's not too bad. I still have a problem with EGTs if I keep my foot in it too long. But I am also still running stock exhaust with a muffler. I upgraded the turbo afterwards and the extra air has helped with the temps, but I think opening the exhaust up will do what I want.

Good Luck!

It's amazing what an open exhaust and a big honking turbo (exhaust) housing has done for mine along with the modified intake and aFe filter. You have the auto and would be just fine with the 18. 5 housing when you go pouring the fuel to the old girl.
