My dad just bought a 97' and is getting ready to put a boost elbow and K&N inbox in it. He was wondering whether he should put a 40hp plate or 40hp injectors in it, not both. He's wanting to maximize his fuel mileage so i told him that the injectors would probably be better, because they create a more efficient burn, whereas the plate turns the pump up. i also told him a pressureloc might be necessary.

If anyone has any suggestions on this problem :-laf feel free to shoot em' back at me.

Thanks,

Miles

p. s. what should the timing be set at on his truck? Also where should I set the timing at on my truck? It will be running between 350-400 ponies

Sorry i put so many questions in one thread

My vote would be for a plate and gsk. The stock injectors work fine for moderate power levels and a plate is cheap adjustable power. As far as the K&N I would suggest a BHAF. Cheaper, lasts for a year and then some, flows more air, filters better, and looks really cool!

same as he said. dont forget the gauges if you havent got them yet. then the kdp. cover your *** then play would be the way i would do it. have fun

Gauges and a #10 plate. I'd get 370's before bothering with the 215 injectors. The 370's are cheaper anyhow. I got the biggest mileage gain from the injector swaqp, than from anything else. AS LONG as you don't play too much. ;) Then it goes down some.

Worst thing is though, you would be looking at needing beefed up transmission and a turbo swap, to throw the 370s into the mix... ... .

ps dont forget the transmission all the extras will kill a stock trans mine lasted three days before it started slipping badly . fuel plate /boost elbow. now getting 19/20 mpg 354 gears 95 2500 4x4 reg cab
