I have a truck with a comp box and a DTT trans 4 inch exhaust and afe air box , If I do DD2's will my tuck get really hot when I tow , does anyone have a simlar set up.

Also when I take off from a stop now that I have the trans it seems alittle like a dog for a minute then takes off like crazy, will injector get ride of this hesitation?

Thanks for your help.

Hey neighbor, I can't speak to your hesitation on your automatic. You can put in larger injectors and tow quite successfully. If she gets too hot just get your foot of it a little. I am towing about 9k with awesome power and stay under 1200 steady up a large hill.

The injectors will help a little but not a lot. The "hesitation" is actually the engine not having enough power to overcome the convertor instantly until a little boost is built, once the boost comes up she takes off well. The engine is able to drive right through a looser convertor easily, that is why the lag is not felt. Your convertor has plenty of torque multiplication but it takes just a little bit of time for things to start happening. That is not going to go away.

As far as temps go the Comp is too hot in the upper levels with injectors. If you want to tow in the upper levels you will need extensive breathing mods.

My advise is to get the DD2's as the driveability is outstanding, keep the Comp off or in the lower levels unless you are playing. You will find the truck is smoother and nicer to drive with injectors making the power.

I am running DDII's, DragComp, 4" exhaust, AFE MagaCannon and (for the next couple of weeks) my stock HX35 turbo. I just towed my 12k 5vr a little over 1000 miles this weekend and I was able to control my temps (below 1300) even through some pretty good mountains. I had the box on 1/1. This is on an ETH which runs hotter by nature... I hope this helps

Hesitation

rweis is think along the right lines

You may want to try 1 x 5 to get rid of the lag, as the extra fuel is instant and no defueling, also try 1 x3 it that two much on the bottom end, it that give extra fuel at zero boost too but doe exceed allow overfueling above the factory curve

I runing mine in vigin (no wire) as 1x2 and 2x5 (actual give 1 x5) and their is a significant difference in power during acceleration. x x 5

kick it up on the bottom end, it more like at easy on 3.

BWagner,

I am running the exact setup your asking about. I don't think you will have any trouble at all keeping the egt's in check while towing as long as you use the correct settings on the comp box.

I think you should get the 2's if you are going to be doing a lot of towing. If not, go bigger than the 2's. I am thinking of upgrading to bigger injectors soon, but need a new turbo first.

Later,

Chris
