Injectors

I was originally searching for 400 HP and have had some excellent reccomendations to get there. I think with all the $$ I spent on my truck already this year, I will just add injectors for now and upgrade to larger ones and a turbo later. My question is..... How big can I go and still keep my stock HX-35 happy. I currently have some egt's to give so, never see over 1100. Usually stays around 1050 on a hard run. I never race and only stay hard on the throttle for short periods of time. I like to use the power for on ramps etc. usually 30-70 blasts and back off. I occasionally tow a 8500lb trailer and am conservative when I do so.

Go with some EDM mach 1 or 1. 5's.

the way I see it, go a little bigger than you think you "need"...



I would rather have a little extra burst on reserve than be 100% safe all the time at WOT...



30-70 blasts are no problem... your driving style sounds a bit like mine... pretty conservative 99% of the time with a blast here or there...



my blasts are generally from 70-95/100... whatever it takes to put the powerstroke in the rearview



by that point, my pyro is at 1600*, and I'm back out.

I was told a good rule of thumb to use was for every 25hp = 75* using the same turbo. That was a few years ago before EDMs became so popular and they are supposed to be a little cooler, so maybe its a little conservative. If you have an adjustable boost elbow, you could set the wastegate to somewhere near 35 psi to keep it from grenading as long as you don't overwhelm it.



I just put in some 130hp EDMs with my HTB2 and I'm kicking myself for not going bigger. Very little smoke and I can't get it above 1200*.

Others are right!! Go bigger!! I fell into the paranoia of high EGT's if I go too big and decided to buy 2. 5's. They were just slightly larger than I thought I could handle. Turns out my EGT's are fine and if I really floor it I hit 1300. The rest of the time I am under 1000 degrees and I have a heavy foot. I wish I would of gone with 3. max or even 4 now.



I think you would be fine with 2. 5's. That is conservative. If it were me...
