Hi I have marine 370 injectors and I am looking for some smaller ones because allong with the power I Have TOO much EGT's and its just not worth it. So I am looking for something in the 250-300hp range. Does anyone know of any injectors that would be somewhere in that range with fewer egt's? Oh and I have a Sled Puller 66 Turbo.

Thanks, Travis :D

When do you have an EGT problem? Towing?

It seems that if your only fueling mods are a #8 and 370's you should not have an EGT problem? However if you have an EGT problem while towing, that I can understand.

I dont tow anything my egt problem is when I decide to push the pedal to the floor and watch my gauge go to 1300+. I want smaller injectors.

i would reccomend the DDP stage 3 injectors, they haved the right spray angle for the piston in our engine's, while the 370's are for the offset piston bowl design found in the marine engines, the stage 3's will give you the same power as the 370's, but will be much cleaner at idle and all other rpm's unlike the 370's which haze at idle, the stage 3's will give you lower exhaust temps, and you'll also notice that you will run less boost, and have the same amount of power, a good set of extrude honed injectors are a bit $$$, but are by far a better injector than the 370's

where is your timing at? Plate position and afc tuning can have a dramatic effect on egt also. How do you have the afc set up? Seems like you could tune that setup into more controllable egt.

Travis,

Thanks for the info. I am just surprised that a #8 and 370's are too much fuel for a SP66.

As suggested have your tried tuning the truck a bit to see if you can get better EGT control with tuning?

Sounds like you have slipped timing, with a SP66 you should have no issues with that fueling in the 175 pump. Bump it up to 16 or so, it's probably down around 10-12 right now.

I have the timing set at 16. 5 degrees. I will try adjusting the plate as I believe it is over fueling the engine. Also my AFC is enabled and set somewhere near stock as the truck makes allmost no exhaust smoke except when you get on it. I'm just upset because I had a 24 valve with a 5 speed and it would run circles around my 12 valve and it only had an edge comp and rv275's. This truck has way more power but too many egt's. I couldnt get my egt's anywhere near 1300 in my 24 valve even if i tried (which I did). Someone please help me :(

Well as we all know those silly 24valves :-laf have better flow which helps cool

on your 12valve is 1300 degs. the highest youve seen ??? if so thats nothing .

but like WDimig said the spray pattern is not right for our engines so it does get pretty hot

when i had my 370's which were 5 holes @. 012 i could bury my 1600 deg. pyro.

now that i put in 5-. 018's its more fuel but cooler egts because of the amount of fuel.

i hope this helped atleast a little:D

It seems to me that the turbo would be to big for the amount of fuel supplied. If the turbo never really spools up then a smaller turbo with the same amount of fuel lit-up would actually flow more air.

Its a guess, but like you said your 24v with the stock turbo, box, and injectors is running circles around your 12v. I would say you could use more fuel or a smaller turbo, think of what a SP66 is capable of. Highfinance was talking about higher flow injectors cooling egts on his SP66.

Even with a PS62 I would think that turbo could handle what you have to throw at it. I am planning on getting honed 370s, keep the 0 plate, get LC DVs, 4000rpm gsk all with a turbo around that size. Even though it would probably be a bit overfueled, but the HTB2 is good for 525hp and the SP66 for 550-625hp so it might be on the border of to big.

OK I will probably send the turbo to High Tech and they said they will down grade it for like $85 and I will get a smaller plate allong with smaller injectors. Oh one more thing can I grind my stock plate to increase performance as opposed to purchacing a smaller plate????

Thanks, Travis

Thats what I did, a 0 plate is the plate ground down even with the part of the plate cut farthest in. You could also do a 100 plate and that is like a 0 plate except on the bottom it would ramp up from what a stock plate would have so you would not have so much low end fuel. Kind of hard to explain it is better to find a picture so you could do a search on it.

what are they downgrading you to?? Switch out the turbo and see how it does if you do the injectors, turbo, and plate at the same time you wont see what is working for you. What size exhaust housing are you running.
