Just wondering what size injectors most guys are running for 500 to 600 hp applications. I want to know how many holes and what size holes. This is for a 12 valve
Haisley 5x18's... . so much fuel it needs a shot of ether to get it running even in the warm temps and trying to start it with the grids before that!!!! Once its running and warm it starts fine. In comparison I think 370's are 5x12's and think 215hp injectors are 5x8's... I could be wrong though but these ones are pretty crazy and yeah it smokes quite a bit!!!
My New Era 435s got me up to 550hp so far, should be able to hit 600hp here soon. I also have a set of DDP4s and . 022" DVs that are going in soon too.
Oh yeah, and both of these injectors are 5x. 018"s
Are you sure the DDP4's are . 018 holes? I'm pretty sure they are smaller than that? Not that the HP an injector can produce it all about the size of the holes in the tip.
Maybe they have changed them. Ross told me they are hard give an actual hole size since they are extrude honed and the hole is oblonged. Around the . 012-. 014 seems what Ross told me. 5 x . 018 are big injectors, I don't think they are that big.
I measured them in the neighborhood of . 013. I know it has been said a 100 times before but it bears repeating here. The size of the holes in the tip is not absolute in regards to how much HP an injector can produce.
