Plain and simple, could my 96' ctd handle injectors at this point? I want some good horsepower out of them so what would be my limit. I have mag hytec transmission pan and as far as i know a stock auto transmission, shifts very firm. arc flow intake, stage 2 afe cold air, #6 tst fuel plate, stock turbo and the gauges to watch it all. lets hear brands guys, thanks i appreciate it.

Brad,

Yes. If you don't mind a little smoke 370's will fill the bill for less $. Try to find a balanced set. You may want to re-adjust the fuel plate after install.

Godspeed,
Trent

If you want more power and no smoke, try contacting Dynomite diesel performance. Injectors come ballanced and you can talk to a human to figure out which ones will work for you with out putting your trans in danger.

hey guys thanks alot. . ill for sure call the DDP to check them out. As for 370's you think it could handle it? and what kind of power increase would i be looking at? about head gasket work, how much could i be looking to spend on a better gasket set up?

I went with the Bosch 330 horse in my truck with no pump mods. Cost was bearable, just under $500 installed. With other mods in sig, all poboy, I believe that it's making around 225-250 hp, maybe 500 ft#. The 330's smoke at full throttle at low speed (low rpm) until boost comes on. I tow a 5500# (wet) travel trailer and could use a little more power than I have, but want to conserve the stock transmission for awhile. (Till I win the lottery) GCVW is 13,300 - 13,800# and it manages most grades in cruise without coming out of O/D, running 60-70 mph. Still thinking about grinding my plate..... it issss a slippery slope. Mods so far have just made a good truck better, But the injectors are what really brought it to life. It was starving for fuel.

With the mods you have, go for the injectors. Watch for egt's to go up. Mine run 100-200* over stock, under load. Boost went from 17 psig stock on the governor to 33 psig on the governor now.

You didn't say if you killed the kdp.

Enjoy, Tom

with a bhaf, 16* timing, 330s and a ats exhaust manifold i did 248hp on a dynojet with a crapping out lift pump that would drop to 15 psi with any throttle in neutral, at the moment i have straight pipes and the plate full forward and it rips pretty good, i need to adjust the afc since it getting warmer i can to a impression of a forest fire :-laf
