When I had DD2's installed in my truck, I noticed that my mileage wasn't affected. It pretty much stayed the same until 20k. Now my mileage is just getting better.

You will probably get answers all over the place here. IMO if you go with 275's or stage ones and drive like you want fuel mileage, the addition of "small" injectors should help your mileage.

I don't track it real closely but I did not notice a mileage difference. The funny thing is I ran a tank where I mostly nursed it around with mashing the peddle and smoking all over the place. That tanks mileage was actually down a little. So lesson learned. Get on the throttle, it likes it.

I asked that very same question of people like HVAC when I first got into the TDR and got the BOMB fever. I was told that unless you drive CONSTANTLY with right foot on floor, mileage will go from same to a slight increase.

I drove for 12,400 miles bone stock. Got between 15. 8 - 16. 2 MPG every one of those miles, as I keep a log of every fuel fillup, oil change, etc. . At 12,400, I added DD stage 3 and their True Torque Power Module (an Edge EZ box). As of this morning, I have 22,100 miles, and now regularly averager between 17. 6 - 18. 6 MPG with every tankfull. I also use either Red Line Oil 85+ or Cummins diesel fuel additive with every tank full.

You can see the other BOMBs I have in my . sig.

I have only briefly towed anything (total of about 2000 miles worth), always run empty except for those 2000 miles of towing, and drive about 50 miles per day round trip to work and home. I like to drive between 70 - 80 MPH when I can on freeways.

For what it's worth, that is my experience to date.

[edit] One other piece of advice to anyone considering BOMBing: instead of doing thins piecemeal, like starting with 275 or DD stage 1 injectors, then deciding you want more, and going to stage 2's then eventually ending up at stage 3's, wait until you can afford to go as far as you honestly feel you would ever possibly want to go and go there the first time. Much cheaper!! If the DD Super Mentals had been out when I did my injectors, I would have installed them. Trust me, you will *always* want more power... . this is a never ending disease!! [/edit]

Here's what I have found... very little difference. Most of my driving is in town, never see 6th gear except on the rare occasion that I leave town. Most of the time I am either climbing a hill or going down one. I track my mileage with every fill up, since day one, the results are as follows.

Brand new, no BOMB's- varied between 13-14 MPG in town

Added the Edge EZ, same results.

Added the BD step 3 injectors,HX40,4" pipe, Scotty air system, same results.

Added the BD step 5 showerheads, same results.

My best mileage to date is 18. 5, but I haven't taken a long highway trip yet, and only have 9000 miles on the truck. I thought that my in town mileage would surely go down with the 5's, as I now shift at higher RPM's to keep the soot level down, MPG is still the same. I also add Stanadyne PF at every fill up. I started doing this at about 2000 miles, never found any MPG gain but add it just the same as I believe it sure isn't hurting anything. I used to tell myself, 'self, this tank full I will drive conservativley' and see if the mileage goes up. That always seem to last for about the first 50 miles, then I'm back at it, building 40 psi's of boost and having fun :D
