The EZ is still the best bang for your buck. I like the DD TTPM a little better with the injectors. Comes on pretty good at about 1700 rpm's, You can really feel it with the DDIII's and a light foot.

Sounds like a great plan. Make sure you put guages on. On my wifes truck, totally stock, I can hit 1200* on a hill pulling the horse trailer...

Thanks Greg! Yes, I've got the gauges already.

I'm hoping this truck will at least equal my 95 for power. It really ran like a race truck compared to this one. It had a Bosch plate in the pump, 370 injectors, 3,000 rpm gov spring kit, and 16 cm2 turbo housing. It had smoke on demand. Loved that truck, until a little old lady pulled out in front of me with her Neon. :(

Given those mods, I would imagine you had in the 350-400hp range before. The 3G will have less response off the bottom though, as the computer is adjusting the "aneriod" for you.

Gee I guess I opened up a can of worms with this thread HUH? Just getting everyones . 02 Hey Keith thanks for all the great stuff you have sold me for my H. O. 03 this thing hauls A$S. I can't wait for the new fueling box and your newest turbo.

So what can I expect as far as temps with the TTPM and DDI?

I do tow a TT in the summer months which weighs in at about 7500 lbs. Is this something I can control with the throttle?

Thanks

JIM

JEly, I wouldn't suggest you go that far. Just the TTPM puts you at the limit of the stock turbo, and if you're going to tow, you may have to turn it down to keep the EGT's in check.

With your automatic, you don't want to have to back off all the time to keep EGT's in check, as that's when the TV cable gets released a bit and the trans could slip.

Add Stage 1's to that setup and you'd have to have a turbo/airbox/exhaust to keep the EGT's in check.

Greg, a diesel wizard I once knew always said, "Diesels are like candles you can run your hand through the flame and it won't hurt, but keep it there and you will get burned.

Dan :D

It should be OK to run 1200 continuously. A lot probably depends on the accuracy of your pyrometer though. I thought 1300 was the number but people say 1250 in case the pyrometer is off 50 degrees or so.

I have ran DDII's and TTPM for quite a while now. I have never had a need to upgrade the turbo while towing. I can run all day at 65-75 mph uphill. I only see high EGT's ver 2700 rpm's. I always hear that with DDI's and TTPM you need to upgrade the turbo. Lets just say that we agree to disagree.

We use 1250*F pre-turbo, or as hot as it will get stock, as the upper limit. Our 3G HO truck would make 1380 or so stock, so if DC is happy with that, so should we be. :)

Another reason to have gauges first - to know what they will run stock.

of corse greg has a so which = lower temps and less hp

my last rig, an 03 ho [stock turbo] had no trouble keeping egt within limits with dd1s and the fuelpressure box off, but with pressure box on it get warm to easy.

Just a note for you guys running injectors, the TS Performance Ramifier is custum tuneable so you adjust the fuel pressure/boost to make you truck run good.
