This Friday, My new trans should be installed. I need some injectors . Can you guys throw out a few suggestions, I don't want to buy a new turbo . just yet (I want to wait a few more months on the newer boxes) Thanks in advance John

I helped install a set and didn't think it was that much more difficult. The hardest challenge is popping them out once everything is undone 'cause there isn't a place to pry on them or install a bolt in the end to grab on to.

Removing and reinstalling the exhaust rocker is a piece of cake.

I would suggest removing the lower valve cover girdle, it's easy to do, and you can get at things easier.

Lastly I stress the importance of CORRECTLY torquing the fuel line fittings, and make sure you close the hood and stand clear when you do the initial fireup, incase there are any fuel leaks. After running it a couple minutes stop the engine and check for leaks around the lines.

When you do the initial fireup she'll make lots of white smoke which takes a couple minutes to clear. I assume this is due to air that gets in the rail and lines during installation which has to work its way out.

injectors? big ones! ;) :p

when I bleed injectors/lines, I do it w/ the hood open and my bare hand on a wrench... yes, I understand that diesel is at high pressures, but there's no reason for it to cut your hand in that situation IMHO

I have a set of DDIII's I am willing to part with. Just need a core of stock ones. Sold my truck and need to DeBomb it.

Thanks for all the great information and insight. I just bought a new service manual on line for my truck and was hoping it didn't have 27 chapters on how to remove your injectors! Thanks again, John.

that works ok on inline/rotary pumps [and the vp pumps] but with the HP common rail, there is always high pressure there in the lines when running, and it is much higher than on other pumps... better to be safe than sorry...
