In the progression of experiments with our dodges, us manual drivers approach the time when it is time to upgrade the clutch. I have been looking at clutches, and it is overwhelming. Some recomend dual disk, some say no. I have been looking and talking to the people of South Bend Clutch, and have been recomended two different clutches: the MU0090 Con. O, priced at $650. 00, and the MU0090 Con. OFE, priced at $820. 00.

A little background. I live in Indiana, no huge hills, dont do a large ammount of pulling, just playing. Truck has computer turn up, Edge EX, and 275 injectors, would like to go bigger on the injectors, and cold air induction, or possibly ram air will be added this spring. Being a college student, money is definately an issue, but I would like to spend what I have wisley. So, if there is any input as to what brand, type, style clutch would best suit me, or has served you well, I welcome the input. Thank you!!

I have the Con OFE and I am very happy with it. It has light pedal pressure (less than stock I think), and is pretty smooth most of the time. It will chatter a little once in a while, but nothing serious. Best part is this thing holds what I've thrown at it so far. I can't complain about my SBC.

I bought an OFE this summer direct from SBC at Thunder in Muncie. With the stock clutch, an EZ and DDII injectors, I was slipping under moderate loads (like accelerating onto the highway).

I believe they've uprated the Con-OFE to 425hp and believe it is about the most clutch you can get without going to the full Feramic (the FE).

So far I'm really happy with it, hasn't slipped, and is holding up nicely to the power I've added to the truck. I'm now running a Comp box.

Good Luck,

Matt

The con o90 is a great clutch and Peter and the guys are second to none in standing behind there products, mine broke a center in the disc and was replaced and shipped same day. At 400hp/1086tq it has never slipped and engagement is smooth as silk if you can afford it and more bombs are in the future they have more options that may be a good idea. Call and talk to Peter he will not lead you astray. Tim

The Con OFE is a great clutch. Watch out for hard shifting after install. This thing may need a break in period. Pedal pressure is lighter. The clutch is grabby and takes a bit of getting used to, but is worth the money.

I have the Con FE. While not as smooth as the OFE, it really holds. If you plan on sled pulling go with a dual disk clutch from Enterprise.
