I am installing my fuel vent kit Friday night and plan on doing the Walbro 392 performnace/2 Micron filter w biggfuel lines Saturday morning. Is there anything I need to know before hand or anything I can do that will make it easier. Thanks Guys

Take your time removing the tank. The best way (the only way that worked for me after alot of cursing) was to use very small tie wraps on the supply and return line fittings on the top of the tank. If you snug them down lightly on the fittings, the lines just pull off so easily. Also remove the rear tire so you can reach in there from the wheelwell.

Good luck.

Also, it'd be easier if I had a 15mm deep socket... much easier for removing the nuts on the strap bolts holding the tank...

I would recommend using a bit of pipe dope on the fittings that thread into the "stock fuel pump replacement manifold" if that makes sense. :-laf

My 1/2"-drive deep socket wasn't deep enough. 3/4"-drive should be much better.

If you haven't done so already, take care of those pesky rollover valves while you have the tank down. Some 1/4" fuel line, a tee, and a cheap fuel filter will suffice.

Also, one thing that I regret not doing while my tank was down was that I didn't remove the OEM "mesh" on the bottom of the fuel pickup. This mesh acts as a screen to prevent debris from getting into your fuel system, but I think it will eventually clot up and become an obstruction. Now I wish I had removed mine and let the other filters I added deal with any tank crud. Oh well.
