I think dealer lots are starting to fill back up with new vehicles, so the record trade in prices are starting to drop.
Not quite yet. Orders are still taking 5-6 months to fill and lots are still empty.

Trade in value on my truck peaked last September and dropped a little into December but hasn't changed since, even with 4K more miles on it.

Yes, I stand corrected, just went to my dealer for a part, and the lot is maybe 1/3 full. As a side note, I also noticed that all the oil filters on the shelves are "NAPA" brand.

I only use mine for RV pulling mainly, so the 03 is only at 112K miles. Still reliable and runs good. I just replace the aged out stuff as needed. I try not to drive the newer trucks though, I don't want to know what I'm missing!

I figure ball joints will be coming up soon, but so far they are original. The truck has been mostly trouble free. Couple water pumps, auto trans rebuild and an injector line. Wiring harness replaced under warranty. Interior is still clean, the dash is cracking under the mat I added years ago. It has a dash rattle at idle, it has been wrecked once, drivers side fender and mirror, hit a flying mattress on the interstate. Its been my favorite truck ever though. My Fords had much more issues, but that was in the 90's. If you keep them 6 years or longer they drop so much in value in normal markets, normal times. Banks won't loan on older trucks much either.

65K miles is a no brainier for me. I would keep it, but I hate truck payments! I only pay $20 something in registration tag fees. Insurance is cheap too. I guess as longs as the parts are available I'll keep mine running. I still have my 1995, the biggest expense is insurance. When I'm not using it i just park it out back as a back up "farm truck" since its more useful around the property than buying a golf cart or some side by side.

I consider the lower mpg of my 12 to be a huge plus over the 13+ emissions and non-warranty expenses! It's a dedicated tow truck so mpg isn't much of an issue, anyway.

If you are wanting a Large 5th wheel, then the new ones are Great.. We have a 17 dually 3500 Crew cab Longhorn with auto level, Aisin and 4:10s at 70 mph Im taching 2000 rpms.. We bought it used in 17 with 1200 miles.. Sticker was 78000 and paid 62000. Today the Kelly Blue Book Private Party in Excellent condition with 34000 miles is 75000! However, The new Trucks fully loaded are hitting the 95000 mark or higher..In our state the Registration is based on the MSRP... Our first Registration was 1477.00!!! Plus 4300 in Sales tax.. The state made more on the Truck than Ram made and the dealer combined! However, If you don't need one Id stay with yours..

This is our 2017 we bought at Petersons in Idaho... We love this truck.. Only getting 16.5 mph..It was hard to find a 3500 Dually, Aisin, 4:10 auto level, 4x4...We looked In So.Cal, Towbins in Vegas, and even Dave Smith's in Kellog Idaho.. Out of 400 trucks at Smith's he did not have ONE... He had a lot of Kid's trucks jackup 20 feet in the air.. But not one that would tow 31000 lbs..
