Thanks for the pic. I got a bottom tap, but I have been reading about the need to grind the cover. Hope to put the new studs in on Sun.

If you bottom tap, which you should then you dont have to mess with cutting up the rocker housing.



I bottom tapped yet still had to grind some of the rocker housing. Not nearly as much as the pic in this thread, but still some grinding was required. I think it's because the nut used in the ARP is slightly taller than the stock bolt head, plus the thread was above the nut ever so slightly.

I had to do the same
 
yeh, they must have changed something slightly. The first couple I did , did not require grinding as long as they were bottom tapped, but lately I have had to grind some that were bottom tapped.

i bottom tapped my block and it appears that it went deep enough to clear the rocker box, also using arp 12mm studs... but my box was previously ground from the first time it was studded... :cool:
