Here are some pictures of my finished installation of Auto Meter Phantom II gauges and Trailer Brake Control.

NavyDood gave an excellent install report (which I used as a guide). I'm only going to give an overview. The gauge install went smooth and with out problems, other than a fool (me) laying one of the wires on the soldering iron. Used the RLT boost bolt supplied by Geno's for the boost gauge. And mounted the thermocouple after the turbo in the pre-tapped port on the Jake Brake. Bought the Auto Meter LED dimmer, tapped a switched 12v line and mounted the dimmer box on one of the hood release handle screws. Out of the way but eacy to reach. A toggle switch on the A piller mount for the gauge lights.

For the Prodigy brake control, cut a small notch behind the control to recess it a little. Panel was easy to remove after you found all the screws. Gear shift doesn't come close to it. This location makes it easy to reach for braking and you can see the read out clearly in a glance.

Those gauges look great, congrats on the install, it's really clean. Oo.

Actually, I'm having second thoughts about the dpricols optix that I was planning for my truck, this autometer look real nice.

Enjoy your new toys. :D

Yes, those do look good, how do you like them? Damn, something else to add to the goodies list  Anyone interested in a set of original Phantoms? :-laf

I like em'

The gauges are great at night. With that dimmer, you can set them at the same intensity as the dash. Very responsive and easy to read, either day or night.

So, can you splice the Autometer dimmer into one of the wires controlling the dash lights, so you don't have to use the seperate switch to control them?

Yes, the LED dimmer can be tapped into the dash light switch. Per the instructions, the LED use a very low amp. and the dimmer circuit won't effect them. For me, the toggle switch seemed easier than popping more panels to get to the light switch.

Is it just me, or why would anyone prefer digital gauges over a well installed setup such as AWay's? Very nice looking!

I've been tryint to decide "digital or analog". This closes the deal for me.

To each his own... ..... I guess.
