install exhause brake myself?

Well, not me- my husband Anyway, he is VERY handy, how long would you anticipate on a 2004. 5 6sp?

if he is mechanically inclined, I don't see why he couldn't do it. the hardest part might be finding the right wire in the ECM connector if you are getting one that uses the ECM. I'm guessing it shouldn't take more than a couple hours.

I have installed 4-5 Pac Brakes on the 04+ Dodges. If he has the correct tools and can find his way around a normal shop he should be fine. I would plan on about 3 to 4 hours on the first one. The ECM plug in is a bit difficult as is feeding wires through the firewall and mounting the switch. It is a straight forward install.

Yes, he can do it. For me, the hardest part was replacing the serpentine belt (for a Jacobs ebrake).

It took me about 3. 5 hours to do my Pacbrake. I was working alone and taking my time.

It wasn't very difficult, but it took be almost 8 hours to complete. The biggest hurdle I had was I tore the gasket that goes between the turbo and brake, so I had to put everything back in the garage and find a dealer with the gasket in stock. I also tried to install the brake without pulling out the right front fenderwell, which didn't work.



It's easier with 2 people to get the brake installed on the turbo and the pipe lined back up. Otherwise, it's a 1 person job.

I tell all our customers that wish to self install to plan on 4 to 5 hours... . we usually do it in the shop in 3 to 3. 5 hours ... . we always suggest that you pull the passanger side inner fender to gain access to the exhaust...



And to recheck the connections at the exhast brake to trubo connection after 200 miles.....



If you guys are doing it in 3-4 hours I think that's great.....
