I got my #10 fuel plate from Piers last week. Piers advised moving the plate 20 thousandths forward of the stock position and sliding the AFC housing all the way forward.

Power is up quite a bit. I was expecting some smoke when I stomp on it. I'm not getting much... I opened up the afc and dialed the star wheel all the way forward. I'm still not getting any smoke...

It's interesting. On the freeway, when I get on it the truck goes through the gears rapidly. When the torque converter hits lockup, the turbo hits 30 and the thing accelerates pretty hard. This kind of suprises me. I don't see the turbo get up that high at lower speeds when I punch it.

I talked to someone at Piers (he was out of town. ) They said I should check my fuel filters and overflow valve. Is the overflow valve repairable? I thought it was matched to the pump.

What should I do to get this guy dialed in?

Run a search on "overflow valve" and you'll find more reading than you care for!

I have my 10 plate all the way forward. The reason you don't see higher boost until you hit lockup, is because your T/C sucks. doesn't have enough fluid coupling.

You should replace the fuel filter, it's probably due anyhow.

I-6DZL is rite about the t/c no load no boost no power . lock up comes in and look out. I just installed a 10 to over the weekend and i can see i need to raise the governor arm up a bit to gain on the low end grunt . mjs

Plate Power

I would also suggest a a afc spring kit will give some good low end fueling for quicker accelration. Oo.
