I put a bigger air system on my 2007. WHAT a JOB! I put a 100% duty cycle, 200 psi capable, Viair 480C with a 2.5 200 psi Viair air tank. I have it set for 150 psi. I mounted the compressor and tank under the right front door under well between the body just under the door and frame rail. SO... I wanted to have a NICE, LOUD air horn and I bought a 24 inch single GROVER air horn. I wanted a safe and protected mounting place for the horn and found one that protects the horn, allows it to blow without anything in front of it, is easy to access and is hidden.
I removed the air cleaner assembly and mounted it just below the bottom of the air cleaner. I installed a 12 volt solenoid valve under the truck next to the compressor and tank. I installed a switch so I can select between the air horn or the stock horn.

Dam that has GOT to be loud!! Nice work, ALSO like where you mounted it, but DO be careful how you use it...
Years ago, I HAVE seen people SERIOUSLY startled by train horns while highway driving...and NOT just the driver being warned of...other drivers can over react from simply being in proximity.

Instead of an air horn on my truck, I installed a vintage 12v diaphragm horn from an OLD car or truck (bell is 18" long, diaphragm is 5" round) and wired it up with a momentary foot switch just where the old, floor-mounted high beam switches used to be, on the floor in between the clutch and brake pedals. There IS actually a factory cover plate that can be reomved from the the floor well as well as accessed from under the truck on my 2005. I removed the plate and bolted the switch right in, cut a hole in the carpet and was good to go. In a panic situation, I still have BOTH hands for steering or shifting, one foot for the brake or gas if necessary, and I can still step on the floor switch with my left foot to warn the other driver...it is NOT as a nice a set-up as your airhorn, but I DO like the independent switches for operating the oem vs. the vinatge horn without having to first throw another switch. Right hand = the nice horn, Left foot = the "you're focking-up horn."

I had a pair of Hadley's mounted on the side step brackets. Out of sight, in line with the front wheels... one on each side. Terrifying loud from outside the insulated cab. Found out that I must have had some moisture in the air line one winter... the horns started sounding all by themselves. Gave ME a start! Did I mention I had two VIAR 5 gallon tanks? <G> Lee Vining residents still remember me.

I disconnected the stock horns and wired my dual airhorns to the Horn control wires. If I need to use the horn, I need to use the HORN! My only "on/off" switch is for the compressor control.

Charles....You don't use a pressure switch? I use one, it's set at 125psi and it turns off the compressor when it hit the set pressure.
