boost fooler & elbow question

HotRod VP

well i got it put in there and the truck is running. its an intersting sounding turbo i will say that completely different than the stock one. my egts at 2k rpm and 4th gear going down the road are 250* cooler. i cant even tell the difference in spool up time compared to the 35 that came off. its a quick turbo. i am not having a problem with it barking as of yet anyways. dont know what it will do different after it sees some more fuel and higher boost #'s.

i dont know what it is capable of, the sorta part here, because there wasnt an exhaust flange in the box with it and its icelandic holiday friday thru tuesday so i cant just go buy a 4" flange. i made one to get me by until i get one in the mail. took a 4 1/8 socket cut a ring off of it, split it, and welded it around a 60* elbow and clamped her onto the ole turbo. it seems to be holding without a whole lot of leaking. Mr Pius was great all around to deal with and got it out that day for me.

i am curious as to what other people who are running this same turbo have thier wastegate set at? i am going to wait till i get the actual part in there before i go seeing what it will do, but i am just wondering.

well i thought it was an interesting little story and figured it would give you guys/gals something new to read. if you are anything like me in that you come to the site a few times a day to see what is new.

TS Performance is running the USB on their truck. That truck has got to make big power, especially with all of that NOS.

I ran my USB with 515 hp and 55lbs of boost. The only thing I found that works better is twins, maybe twins with a USB would be even better? ;)
