Archived Installed DTT voltage reg. now no speedometer Help!

Well I fixed one problem and seem to have created another one. I checked and double checked all my hookups even took the voltage reg. out of line and still no speedo. Took out the sender and could not see anything wrong with it, maybe it was it's time to go out. Any ideas? Going to NM on Sat, would really like to have my cruise control back.

Call them! they are very good with helping out customers and non customers alike.

I bet you cut into the wrong wire, not sure because I've not installed one.

Call DTT first . They will get you out of the woods. Out standing customer service as others will attest to. kGood luck and let us know how it worked out.

I don't know if your 97 has this, but on my 99, there's a sensor on the top of the rear differential. This sensor, if bad, will cause the speedometer to fail. It is very easy to replace and costs around $45. 00 from the dealer. Are there any other indicators on such as your abs light? If so, then I would definitely look in to replacing that sensor!

Hey rmrc, I di replace the the rear wheel speed sensor and still no speedometer the ABS light is not coming on. Does anyone know for sure that the rear wheel sensor drives the speedometer? By looking at the wiring diagrams I would think it was from the 3 wire sensor on the transmission. Does anyone know what voltage I should read on the those sensors? Again I would think 5volts that get pulsed back to the computer.

rmrc, Appreciate your post. Was searching to see what could have caused my speedo to drop to 0 and my ABS light to come on just briefly last night while coasting down a hill. It only did it for an intant and then went right back to normal.

Now, if it happens again, I know where to start for diagnosing the problem.

Rory worked on solving that problem at our recent wrench day. It's a bit Ironic really, but a lesson to all of us... ... ... . it was a simple matter of a wire that had been crimped too tightly and was making a poor connection. (We've all been there)



Lesson learned- retrace all your steps, and double check your connections.
