I replaced the DD2s with EDM 1. 5s and now I have a flutter at any given no load RPM. I was not doing this before that I remember. Overall it does run smoother except for this flutter. Also when you first start it, it will lope around for a few seconds till the idle settles down. Bob W said to check inj line torque and also might remove the lines and check for a clean connection at the injector tube. If you guys have any other ideas please feel free to throw them out here. We are leaving on Sunday for a two week trip to S. Ca. and I would like to get this worked out before then. TIA

Sorry I haven't posted pics of the conv yet. I have been so busy trying to get ready for this trip that I keep forgetting to get a pic for you guys. Tomorrow I promise!!

You might describe the flutter a little better. The lope happens from time to time with Don's injectors. Most of the time it will go away after a few thousand miles but sometimes not. I would disconnect the injection lines and double check all the seats into the connector tubes. Make sure there isn't any rust or corrosion. If there is I remove all of the injection lines and polish the tips with very fine sandpaper (600grit)Then make sure the nut on the injection line is torqued correctly.

EDM Injectors

My truck does the same thing. I'm not blaming the injectors though. My symptoms are the following; Running at highway speeds and try to accelerate, and thats when it feels like the truck is missing or something. When I take my box off it does not behave that way. I have exchanged my box already and cleaned the ecm connections etc. . I still can't figure out what the heck it is. I put the injectors in parallel with getting my DTT transmission. I can't tell if the engine is missing or the transmission is unlocking. I have 8-10 psi of fuel pressure.

thanks

Do you have the Smart Controller? If so you are most likely unlocking, but there should not be any miss. Like about a half kickdown. If you have the Smart Controller maybe it needs some adjustment?

Is your box grounded to the battery? If not, that maybe part of the problem. The Edge box will do the same thing, especially in cold weather.

The flutter I am talking about can only be felt and heard at no load conditions, and the higher the RPM the more pronounced it is. It's not a miss, not even a half a miss, just not smooth running. Under load you can't detect it and it pulls great, so I don't know, I'll run it to Calif. and back, if it don't get better I guess I'll put the DD2s back in :( :{ . I checked all the injector lines for torque, I did not remove them and check the connection. If any of you see a looong red CTD with a fiver on the side of the road between Tx and Ca, stop and see if I need help changing injectors :( Bye

Chris, I will exchange the Mach 1. 5 at any time. Please let me know if the fixes we spoke about did not cure the problem.

Why the Change? Just curious.

Just curious why you changed from DDIIs to EDM1. 5s?

I have DDIIs and they work great for everything I do (heavy towing, playing w/ Fords & Chevys etc. . ).

Thanks, Wiredawg

1. Much cleaner burn

2. More low end grunt

3. Better EGT's

4. Better MPG's

I'm sure there's more but that's what I can think of right now
