I installed my new DiPricol's from enterprise engine today. I love them sooo much. I bled down my fuel pressure gauge and it reads about 9 psi at idle !!!!! Oh MAN!!! Does this mean!!?? The dreaded lift pump failure? Should I get a new one under warranty? Or just put in pusher pump? I am mad now. Gues it visits everyone. How do I make sure gaugeis correctly installed

Warrantee it!

Bigstick: if the only 'bomb' you have on your truck is the gauges, by all means warrantee the lift pump! If you have to remove a lot of 'bombs', then it may not be worth the $150 for the pump from a Cummins dealer.

9psi at idle is low, and it probably is a lot less under load or at WOT. Get it fixed, or you may have some damage to your injection pump.

There is a LOT of heat removed from the VP44 injection pump and returned to the tank. This heat may be an additional factor in the damage caused by the lift pump failures.

A fellow TDR member had to remove his fuel tank at my shop, and drive his truck to get some repairs done on it. He jury-rigged a five gallon can and fuel lines to have a temporary fuel tank. The fuel was HOT, over 105*F [measured] after a few miles of driving. Outside air temps in the 60's.

These VP44 pumps need the volume and pressure of the lift pump to lubricate and cool them.

I hope you don't have any issues with your dealer.

I don't have any issues with my dealer I have an appointment on Tues to get it checked to see for failure and for my alignment. All I have don is what you see in my post so I think it is worth the 150 dollars and I will also be having Mitchell at Enterprise Engine install me a new pusher pump inline with the lifter.
